New York does not have campuses so much as territories.
Manhattan west of Broadway
Columbia and Barnard hold Morningside Heights. Juilliard and the Manhattan School of Music sit around Lincoln Center a few blocks south.
Village, Chelsea and Brooklyn
Parsons and The New School anchor Greenwich Village, the Art Students League still meets above West 57th Street, School of Visual Arts runs buildings from 21st to 23rd Street, and Pratt rebuilt as a vertical campus in Brooklyn.
Downtown and the boroughs
Borough of Manhattan Community College occupies Tribeca, Fordham keeps a Lincoln Center campus for upper years, and the CUNY network stretches from the Gothic towers of City College to Hostos in the Bronx.
Choosing inside the city
Price differences are enormous: reduced-fee traditions at Cooper Union, low CUNY tuition for residents, full private prices elsewhere. Housing dominates the budget — a room in the Bronx can cost half of a studio in the Village.
Study in New York and budget transit and housing before tuition. The subway is the cheapest campus infrastructure in the country.
Enrolment, tuition and acceptance figures are rounded planning values compiled in 2025/26 for orientation. Verify exact numbers with each university's official fact sheet before you apply.
